Rent comparisons: What can $900 rent you in Detroit right now?
Welcome to this week’s installment of Curbed Comparisons, where we explore what you can rent for a certain dollar amount in various Detroit neighborhoods. This week we’re looking at rentals around the city within $100 of today’s price: $900.
This single-family house north of Grandmont Rosedale is just under 1,000 square feet, with a lot of carpet and three bedrooms, including an open upper floor. Utilities are not included and it’s listing for $850 a month.
For $900 a month, here’s a one bedroom, one bath co-op on the river. From this 6th floor unit, you can look outside and see the marina. It has the tiniest of kitchens and new carpeting in the living spaces. The complex has a fitness room and outdoor swimming pool.
In West Village, there’s a one bedroom, one bath apartment in the Parkhurst, located just Parker from the shops on Agnes Street. The unit has hardwood floors, it allows cats, and it costs $875 a month with a $50 flat utility fee.
Near Tech Town, there are two apartments available in our price range. One is a garden level unit at $875; the other is a second floor unit at $900. Utilities are included. It’s located just north of I-94 and close to Wayne State.
If you want to live downtown, Briggs Houze near Grand Circus Park has availability. A studio will run you $914 a month. The building is newly renovated and near the sports stadiums and just across the park from the People Mover.
